Hey mamas! I’m switching things up a bit…this blog post is going to be about us! What moms REALLY want for Christmas. The gifts that will make our lives easier and make our hearts melt.

Remember when your significant other asked you what you wanted for Christmas this year and you said “I don’t know”? Well I remember. And quite honestly, it was because I don’t like spending money on myself.

Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping. But since having a baby, I love shopping for my son more. And most of the time I feel guilty for even treating myself to a $15 shirt from target. I think about all the things I could’ve bought for my son for $15.

I know this might sound silly to some people, but it’s how I feel.

So after making a Christmas list for my fiancé of things I more so need than want, I sat down with my mama and we started brainstorming.

While this list consists of rather pricey gift ideas, they are incredibly realistic! And might even make you rethink some items on your list.

Might I add, this post isn’t only for moms, all you husbands, girlfriends, sons, daughters, etc., take notes😉

What Moms Really Want For Christmas:

Clothes & Shoes– Let’s be honest, most women want new clothes and shoes for their birthday, Christmas, a Tuesday, you name it. But what we really don’t want is to go shopping with a kid on our hip. What we really want is a gift card ($100 to Target sounds lovely to me) that we can spend online at our favorite store of choice. We can buy what we know we like and try everything on in the comfort of our home! All while being able to tend to our child who we didn’t have to drag out of the house.

Handmade Gifts From Kids– My son is my everything. And as much as I love watching him grow into the beautiful person he’s becoming, time needs to slow down. He’s not going to be this baby with chunky hands and tiny feet forever. Therefore having a durable gift that he helped make is something I would cherish for the rest of my life.

This doesn’t mean paper ornaments that are going to get crinkled in the Christmas box. This means laminated crafts, dishwasher safe coffee mugs, framed artwork, etc. Gifts that I can hold onto and keep for years to come.

Mothers Ring– If you wanna see a mom ball like a baby, a ring with her children’s birthstones will do the trick! Haha!

However, since most custom made jewelry is non refundable, I suggest having the special lady in your life help design her mother’s ring. Unless you have a full understanding of the type of metal she likes, what kind of cut she likes and of course the correct ring size, I highly recommend getting her input.

Bluetooth Headphones– These are a game changer! My fiancé gifted AirPods to me for Mother’s Day and I swear I use them every single day!

Washing dishes, cooking dinner, folding laundry and bathing my son are just a handful of the times when I use my AirPods to talk on the phone. They allow me to use my hands while still being able to call my family and friends! Or even make important phone calls while tending to my son.

If you’re into fitness, I was for awhile there….these are also great so you don’t have to carry your phone with a cord hanging in your way.

New Pillows For The Bedroom– Who would’ve thought pillows would make the cut? Although it sounds a bit out of the ordinary, doesn’t everyone want a better night’s sleep?

Gone are the days of buying cheap pillows just because you need some! Gift your special mama some luxurious cooling gel pillows instead!

Professional Family Portraits– This does not mean Christmas portraits! I want to make that very clear! While most of us love getting holiday pictures made, what I would personally prefer, are family portraits that aren’t specific to any season or holiday. Pictures that I can frame and hang up around the house all year long!

Do your research, read reviews, check out portfolios and expect to spend a pretty good amount of money. But once again, these precious photos will be cherished for a long long time.

Laundry Service– I think everyone can agree that the more children you add to the family, the more piles of laundry there will be.

I have one child and if anyone looked at the amount of laundry I have, they would probably think I have four kids! It’s a little embarrassing!

In my town we have a laundromat that will wash, dry and fold your laundry. For a price of course, but imagine all the time that can be saved if someone else was doing your laundry? Plus you’d be supporting a local business.

Some cities even have laundry services that will come to your house and pick up your laundry for you!

Professional Home Cleaning Service– Oh how I daydream of having someone come over and dust my ceiling fans, wipe my baseboards, shampoo my carpet and scrub my bathtub! All things I can and do clean myself. Buuut also things that probably don’t get done as much as they should because other responsibilities take priority.

If you really want to gift this to someone special and just don’t have the money to do so, there is another solution! You could always plan a day when they’re out, to clean their house while they’re away! Coming home to such a surprise sounds dreamy!

Personalized Pampering Day– Emphasis on “personalized”! Some women would rather go hiking than get a pedicure. And some women might prefer a professional massage over a pedicure! Some women may just want to go to a restaurant of their choice without their kiddos!

Whatever it may be, a personalized pampering day would consist of all things they wanted to do that day to treat themselves without having to set up a babysitter and without feeling rushed.

Weekend Getaway– I mean hey if you’re able to take more than a weekend trip, do it! But whether this means going away with a significant other or planning a girls trip, we moms need breaks from our kiddos and day to day lives!

Booking a relaxing Airbnb or even having a staycation while grandparents keep the kiddos, is the perfect surprise for a mom in need of time to herself.

Conclusion:

And that’s it for what moms really want for Christmas! Is it just me or is this list kinda the best? I think everyone could benefit from having at least one of these gifts for Christmas, Mother’s Day, birthday, even for an anniversary!

I’d love to hear what all you mamas think of my list and what you asked for this Christmas!
