If you’re a mom to be, congratulations! I’m so excited for you and super anxious to share this list with you!

My son Emmett is two years old now and I am currently four months pregnant. I remember being four months pregnant with Emmett and feeling so overwhelmed at the thought of registering for my baby shower. Of course I had my baby shower closer to the end of my pregnancy, but I also was a first time mom who had no idea what to even look for when shopping for baby products.

I wasn’t completely clueless, I knew what I needed. But there are so many options to choose from when it comes to car seats, strollers, cribs, etc. You eventually just start scanning anything and everything! And that’s exactly what I did!

Luckily for me, I had some seasoned moms in my corner who branched out a little bit when shopping for my baby shower. I got some really neat things that were either better versions of what I registered for or items I didn’t even know I needed.

And that’s what this post is all about! I have put together 11 of my favorite baby products that I used, loved and will be using again in order to help guide you through registering for your baby shower!

My Favorite Baby Products & Why:

Graco Jogging Stroller & Infant Car Seat Combo

Even if you’re not one to jog, you’ll still love this stroller! Unlike another stroller I have, because the jogging stroller was meant for trails, I have never had the wheels lock up on me. They ride smoothly and effortlessly. Even after two years of use!

What I find the most convenient is being able to transfer my infant car seat over to the stroller frame by simply clicking it into place. It’s much easier than waking a sleeping baby and buckling them into a separate stroller.

Along with it having an infant car seat frame, it actually converts to a toddler stroller! So when your child reaches the height and weight maximum for the infant car seat and moves to a convertible car seat, you can also move them to the toddler stroller. Which is also very easy to convert to.

Unfortunately, I have had a pretty tough time finding my exact jogging stroller and car seat combo. Probably because it’s over two years old! However, while searching I came across Graco FastAction Folding Jogger Travel System and it has two features that mine does not have that I am super jealous about!

Not only does it have one hand fold but the toddler stroller has a tray for your child. I can live without the one hand fold, but not having a tray for Emmett’s juice and snacks has been an obstacle. I would say that is the only drawback to my particular stroller. But you won’t have to worry about that!

Ingenuity SmartClean Trio Elite 3-in-1 High Chair

When searching for high chairs I remember looking at all the patterns of the high chair covers and registering for the cutest one. Embarrassing, I know.

However, my aunt stuck to her gut and actually bought one that I didn’t register for. And I’m in love with it!

My Ingenuity high chair doesn’t even have a cover! And that’s one of the best parts! It wipes clean no matter what Emmett has managed to get on it. The toughest parts to clean are the straps, and if you thought you could do without straps, you can’t! Trust me! Your little one will learn to stand up in their seat sooner than you think!

The most efficient way to clean the straps is with a warm, wet washcloth. Still pretty simple and much more effective than a paper towel or baby wipe.

Another feature that I find to be handy, is the tray insert. This is nice to have when you’re running around all day and forgot to clean the syrup off your kids tray from breakfast, but still have no time to wipe it down so instead you can just remove the tray insert and place lunch on the tray itself…😂 You get the point!

Lastly, my favorite thing about this high chair is it’s 3-in-1 feature! What this means is that along with standing up on its own as a regular high chair, it can be broken down into a booster seat that straps onto a kitchen chair and a toddler seat that rolls up to the kitchen table.

This means when Emmett has play dates with his cousin, they both have a secure spot to eat at. So when baby #2 is old enough for solids, I won’t need to buy two highchairs!

Fisher-Price Deluxe Take-Along Swing & Seat

If you’ve read my post, 7 Items I Wish I Put On My Baby Registry, then you know how much I love this swing

Once again, I registered for something completely different and my sweet mama got me this instead. And it might just be at the top of my list for favorite baby products!

I live in a two bedroom apartment and as much as I love it, if not careful, it can feel a bit tight sometimes. What I love most about this travel swing is its size! It’s lightweight and no bigger than an infant car seat. Which makes it easy to move from room to room, easy to store and easy to pack for family trips.

And don’t let its size fool you, this swing has power! It has six speeds and I only ever had to set it above the fourth speed when Emmett was around 9 months and honestly probably too big for it. I loved it so much and was devastated when I finally had to put it away.

4moms Cleanwater Tub

My 4moms bathtub was the coolest gift I received for Emmett! I registered at Target and put a $15 bathtub on my registry and thanks to some friends of mine, I was instead gifted a bathtub with a digital thermometer and a clean water reservoir. What does this even mean, you ask?

When filling the 4moms bathtub, the running water runs off the digital thermometer first and turns green when the temperature is just right for your baby. It will stay blue if the water is too cold and it will change to red and beep if the water is too hot.

Writing about this tub makes it sound like an unnecessary luxury, but I promise the temperature of your baby’s bath water really does make a difference! And this tub is only $60! I was able to use it until Emmett was nine months old and I stored it to use for baby #2!

Baby Delight Co-Sleeper

My co-sleeper was a must have! And I quickly realized how much I needed it!

My postpartum recovery was brutal. Far worse than labor and delivery. After having Emmett I couldn’t sit, stand, bend over, walk, even shower on my own.

I had my house prepared for Emmett’s arrival but during our hospital stay, which was four days long might I add, I realized I couldn’t even get up to get him out of the bassinet.

When we got home I realized our bassinet was lower than the bed. Turns out that still didn’t matter. I physically could not reach over to pick him up without hurting myself. So on top of my whole entire body aching, I was extremely emotional. I felt like I couldn’t do anything on my own.

But once again my mom was there to save the day! Or the next three weeks lol!

She suggested using my co-sleeper, which was meant for our bed, and putting it between my fiancé and I. Boy was this a game changer!

My fiancé and I slept without any blankets in the bed and aside from my newborn waking me up throughout the night, I had my own alarms set to wake up and tend to myself all night long. So overall the whole set up was very safe!

It is lightweight, portable and because baby products are forever evolving, this one has a built in sound and light unit!

Bumbo

In 7 Items I Wish I Put On My Baby Registry, I raved about my bumbo! In the summer months it was the best item to bring to the pool and I brought it to restaurants for months until Emmett was old enough to sit in a restaurant highchair.

Eventually he grew to be too big for it and I had to store it. It was a sad day. Until…his grandma showed up with this one! It straps onto a kitchen chair, buckles around the waist and has a tray!

my favorite baby products

Highchair/Cart Cover

It’s okay and healthy even to introduce your baby to germs outside the home. When old enough (and when we’re not going through a pandemic), taking them out in public can help build their immune system. That doesn’t mean we want our baby touching the same grocery cart or restaurant highchair that hundreds of other people have touched. And we all know how often our little ones put their hands in their mouths!

Having a cover can really relieve that mommy worry and prevent our baby from getting sick.

Munchkin Sound Asleep Nursery Projector

Truth be told, my two year old still doesn’t sleep through the night. Yes, you read that right. However, during my numerous attempts to “sleep train” him, this projector has been very helpful! And I think it’s absolutely adorable! For $25, it also makes the perfect gift for a first time mom.

It has a variety of sounds including white noise, crashing waves and lullabies. It also has a projector with nature themed slides to swap through. And the bottom of the machine lights up so you can skip the projector if your baby sleeps better without it!

Baby Sleep Sack

I went months without ever hearing of these things! And when I finally came across a picture of one on social media, I was honestly shocked. I felt so out of the loop. And far from trendy😅 A baby sleep sack is a wearable blanket!

Ever heard of a baby who hates being swaddled? Emmett was one of them! And it is nerve wracking trying to keep a baby who hates being swaddled, warm. You clearly can’t cover a newborn with a blanket at night, but how many layers is safe to put on them? The answer is simple: footie pj’s then a baby sleep sack!

And when your baby grows to be a hard headed toddler who likes to climb out of their crib, a sleep sack will prevent them from being able to lift their leg over the railing.

Okay maybe baby sleep sacks are actually my favorite baby products.

Forehead Thermometer

This one is kind of a no brainer. I mean if you haven’t tried holding a digital thermometer under a squirmy baby’s under arm, just imagine doing so. Tricky right? Get a forehead thermometer

As it turns out, I prefer a quick scan to the forehead than thirty seconds spent holding a thermometer under my tongue. Lol.

Mam Pacifiers

Last but not least, another one of my favorite baby products is mam pacifiers! The thing is, these were the only pacifiers my son would take. But your baby might not like them. You have to try different ones, and for your sake I hope your baby takes the first one they’re handed!

We got loads of pacifiers at our baby shower and unfortunately, a lot of people don’t realize that they come in different sizes. So just a little tip for you first time mamas, register/buy newborn size pacifiers! And If you want to try mam pacifiers, I recommend them, but they’re not for every baby.

Conclusion

And that’s a wrap! 11 of my favorite baby products!

Wow! It’s honestly crazy the things you learn as a parent! I feel so much more prepared for my second baby and I hope this post helped prepare any new mamas registering for their baby shower!

All you seasoned moms, what are your favorite baby products?

  1. I LOVE our shopping cart cover. My mother-in-law gave it to me. It’s not stylish or anything lol but it protects from unwanted germs. I love having little Target dates with my daughter!

  2. Love this list! We only used a couple of these things but that is because there are so many great products out there!!! lol. But it is always so helpful seeing what other mama’s loved and used!
