Whether you’re in your first trimester of pregnancy or third, I have an amazing list of items for you for whatever your symptoms may be!

I hope I’m not saying that with too much confidence because although my pregnancy was hard and exhausting, I didn’t have the most “common” pregnancy symptoms.

However, I started my blog to help OTHER women! So I have spent a good amount of time and research to find you anything and everything that could make your pregnancy easier!

I really thrive on helping others and seeing someone benefit from my tips and tricks so I’m super excited to share this list with all of you pregnant mamas out there and I hope the remainder of your pregnancy is as comfortable as it can be!

Click on the underlined items to buy them!

For Nausea:

Ginger Candies– As I mentioned before I didn’t have typical pregnancy symptoms such as nausea. However, I have read from several women how relieving ginger is! For women who get sick from smell, you can use peppermint oil by rubbing it right under your nose for some relief.

For Breasts:

Supportive and Comfortable Bra– A very common pregnancy symptom in the first trimester is breast tenderness. It’s actually how a lot of women know they’re pregnant. Having a supportive and comfortable bra, maybe one without underwire could relieve some of your pain.

Breast Pads– During the third trimester you might start to leak colostrum. This is common and normal and is your body’s way of preparing for your baby. I did not know this and woke up one morning with a sopping wet tshirt. Save yourself a mess and keep breasts pads on you at all times. You can also sleep with a towel under you and or have a tshirt nearby for the middle of the night.

For Belly:

Fetal Heart Monitor– My fetal heart monitor was my favorite item that I had during my pregnancy! For those of you who aren’t familiar with a fetal heart monitor, it is a handheld device that allows you to listen to your baby’s heartbeat! This particular item eased my mind!

I actually had a failed IUD which resulted in my pregnancy. I found out I was pregnant around six weeks which is super early but unfortunately IUD’s increase the risk of having an ectopic pregnancy which can be life threatening to the mother and the baby anywhere from six to sixteen weeks.

Constant back pain put me in the emergency room for nine hours where I had ultrasounds and blood work to make sure my son was not attached in my fallopian tube but rather in my uterus as he was supposed to be. Thank God he was in my uterus!!

However, because the first couple of weeks of my pregnancy were so stressful and terrifying, I bought a fetal heart monitor so I could always hear my baby’s heartbeat and know he was okay.

I would highly recommend these to all pregnant women but especially if you have a high risk pregnancy or have experienced loss.

Belly Balm – Belly balm is great for preventing stretch marks and for hydrating the skin. Your belly is going to grow and during the last few weeks of your third trimester you’re going to feel like your stomach can’t possibly get any bigger. And then it will! Stay lathered in belly balm and moisturizer!

Belly Band– This is one of those items that I wish I had known about when I was pregnant. A belly band is a garment that goes around your lower belly so you can wear your pre pregnancy clothes longer. Which saves you money! But it can also help support your back! I had terrible sciatic pain during my third trimester and I think a belly band would have been a helpful item to have.

For Your Lady Business and Surrounding Areas:

Cotton Underwear– I would constantly get yeast infections throughout my pregnancy and it was brutal! I honestly did not know that yeast infections were especially common in pregnancy (surprise!) and therefore did not think about changing out my lacy thongs for breathable, cotton panties. I learned pretty quickly though! A little tip, also drink plenty of water to prevent getting a UTI.

Lady Shaver– Another item I did not have myself was a lady shaver! But boy did I want one! I think I was just trying to save money and I couldn’t really justify buying one because I was able to shave everywhere without any help my whole pregnancy. That does not mean it wasn’t hard as hell reaching over my big ole belly! It was and I will definitely be buying one if I have another pregnancy!

Stool Softeners– Pregnancy poops suck! I always think of that Charmin commercial that says “We all go, why not enjoy the go?” whenever I think of pregnancy poops. Haha! Seriously though, I know Charmin is referring to toilet paper, but we all poop and constipation is very common during pregnancy. Take stool softeners to make it a little easier!

Hemorrhoid Cream– Constipation can also cause hemorrhoids so it might be a good idea to keep hemorrhoid cream on hand. As always, check with your doctor before taking or applying any medicine to ensure the safety of you and your baby.

For Feet:

Electric Foot Massager – Do I really even have to explain why you should have your own relaxing, heated, electric foot massager? Don’t think it’s one of those expensive pregnancy buy’s that you’ll never use again. Do you know how hard it is to get pedicures when you’re a mom? Impossible.

Compression Socks– My doctor referred these to me because I was working on my feet all day every day, but not until I was about to go on maternity leave so I opted out of buying some. I wish I had known about them sooner! They support circulation and reduce swelling along with many other benefits.

Supportive Shoes– I Immediately forked out the money for comfortable, supportive shoes for work because plenty of women had warned me about foot pain. I loved my Skechers for work and since I was pregnant during the warmer months, I wore my Birkenstocks everywhere else. Keep in mind I already had my Birkenstocks and they are pricey but I believe they are worth every penny! I’m on year four with mine and still wear them every other day!

Slip Resistant Socks – These come in handy for all those dangerous trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

Other:

Pregnancy App or Book- Keep track of how your baby is developing with a pregnancy book or app! My fiancé surprised me with What To Expect When You’re Expecting as soon as I found out I was pregnant.

Prenatal Vitamins– You will need to start taking a prenatal vitamin as soon as you know you’re pregnant. Talk to your doctor about which vitamin is best for you but I’ve linked which one was best for me!

Pregnancy Pillow– Fatigue was my number one pregnancy symptom! During the first trimester I was late for everything and could never stay motivated for anything! A twenty minute target run became too much for me! I mean ALL I did was sleep! And on my stomach! So imagine how it felt when I could no longer sleep on my stomach. Or at all. I did not have a pregnancy pillow and honestly think it was pretty dumb of me not to buy one.

Maternity Clothes- No brainer, right? You won’t need maternity clothes until you get too big to fit in your pre pregnancy clothes. Lucky for you though, when you’re pregnant you can get away with wearing anything. So I stuck to maternity leggings and stretchy tshirts!

Exercise or Birthing Ball– I used an exercise ball when I was in labor with my son! I also know several women who used them to help with back and hip pain. Be sure to check with your doctor before using one.

Antacids– Read the labels on antacids and talk to your doctor about how many you can have. There is a limit when you’re pregnant! But taking these was sometimes the only way I could sleep at night! I had horrible acid reflux during the last few weeks of pregnancy, as do many women and I would wake throughout the night to take tums. I would recommend keeping a bottle on your nightstand.

To all you pregnant mamas, please let me know of any must have items I might have missed! Best of wishes to you and your little one!
